There are challenges that go far beyond sport. Challenges that come from the heart and remind us that, when we come together for a cause, we can achieve so much more.

At AmaloA, we believe in stories that inspire, in people who dare to go the extra mile, and in the small gestures that can bring about great change. Today we want to share one such story: that of Aythami Rodríguez, a young man from Tenerife who has set himself an extraordinary challenge with a goal that touches our hearts.

It’s called the 888 Challenge: 8 marathons, 8 islands and 8 consecutive days.

A challenge that takes him across the Canary Islands from one end to the other

On 28 November, Aythami will face one of the greatest challenges of his life: running a marathon on each of the eight Canary Islands for eight consecutive days.

Eight days of exertion, kilometres and overcoming obstacles, during which his body and mind will have to give their very best. But whilst the sporting challenge is enormous, what really makes it special is the reason behind it.

Because this challenge isn’t just about running. It’s about raising awareness, joining forces and showing that sport can also be a tool to help those who need it most.

Running for a cause that matters

Behind every kilometre of the 888 Challenge lies a cause far greater than any sporting goal: to help children battling childhood cancer and their families.

Through the Pequeño Valiente Foundation, Aythami wants to help ensure that these children and their families have more support, resources and hope during one of the most difficult periods of their lives. Because when a family is facing childhood cancer, every gesture of support counts. And when many people come together with a shared purpose, that support can go much further.

Each marathon will be a new challenge. Each island, a new stage. And every step, an opportunity to remember that behind this initiative are children and families who deserve all our support.

Eight days. Eight islands. One goal.

The 888 Challenge reminds us that big changes do not always begin with grand gestures. Sometimes, they start with one person who decides to take the first step and many others who are inspired to join them.

Aythami will bring the effort, perseverance and enthusiasm needed to explore the Canary Islands in a very special way. But this journey can be ours too. We can be part of this challenge by making a donation, sharing the initiative or helping to raise awareness of the cause. Because you don’t have to run a marathon to make a difference. Every contribution, however small, can help this initiative reach further.

At AmaloA, we believe in stories that leave a lasting impression

The Canary Islands are our home. Their eight islands form part of our identity, our roots and everything that unites us.

That is why stories like Aythami’s remind us of the importance of supporting one another, of looking around us and of contributing, each in our own way, to building a more caring society.

The 888 Challenge is much more than just a sporting challenge. It is a testament to resilience, commitment and solidarity. An initiative that turns every kilometre into an opportunity to help and every finish line into a reason to keep believing in the power of people. Here at AmaloA, we want to support Aythami on this journey and encourage you to be part of it.

If you’d like to support this cause, you can do so through his charity campaign and help ensure that the effort of these eight days is transformed into support and hope for the boys and girls battling childhood cancer.

8 marathons. 8 islands. 8 days. A challenge for them.
